Doug was born in Delaware, spending his childhood years in Ohio before moving to the Boston area as a young teen. He graduated from Eastern Nazarene College, Quincy, MA where he met a beautiful girl from Bel Air, MD, and were married in 1978. He served congregations in pastoral ministry in Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland.
In 1987, Doug and his family moved to Bel Air, MD. Now, for the past 35 years, Doug has built upon his ministry experience, expanding his career of influence by serving the aging population and their families of Baltimore, Cecil and Harford Counties through for-profit, local government, healthcare, faith-based and not-for profit endeavors in high-visibility executive leadership roles.
Doug is a credentialed minister at Freedom Church. He and his wife, Arlene, have three grown children and 5 grandchildren and love having them living nearby, all as Harford County residents.
Now, in this important phase of his life, Doug’s breadth of experience and passion for serving others is foundational by serving grieving families as a Certified Funeral Celebrant, building meaningful memorial services for families who are looking for a non-religious alternative to a clergy-led memorial, or those who are not affiliated with a church or parish.
