Zachary M. Born, age 19, of Maricopa, Arizona, passed away on September 5, 2024. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the beloved son of Patty Born and the late Charlie Born.
Zachary was a bright and talented young man who found joy in the things that set his spirit free. His passion for music was evident in his skillful drumming and love for heavy metal. Zachary loved playing video games, and was passionate about MMA and skateboarding. He had a gift for working with his hands, whether building something from scratch or learning new skills, like welding. Zachary graduated from Edgewood High School in 2023 and was attending the welding program at Central Arizona College.
Zachary was a burn survivor, having spent two weeks in the burn ICU and enduring several surgeries after a house fire in 2022. Zachary faced his challenges in spite of his fears.

True to his giving nature, Zachary donated his liver and kidneys to three Arizonans, and his heart valves to science. His warm heart and genuine spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. Zachary will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will forever remember him for his genuine soul, boundless empathy, and the light he brought into their lives.
In addition to his mother, Zachary is survived by his stepfather, Edward Stanley; brothers, Brandon Born and Xavier Zazueta; sister, Chanelle Born; sister-in-law Rachel Fischer; and his dog, Jesse.
