Yvonne Denise Hedgmon-Cossey

Yvonne Hedgmon-Cossey, 52, of Tappahanock,VA, passed away February 16, 2021, with her family by her side.

She was born to Ruth Vessels and the late Bland Vessels. Yvonne graduated from Essex High School in 1988 and received an BA in Psychology and in Business.

She married Robert Cossey in 2005, and they lived together in Maryland. Yvonne is survived by ten children: Whitley Davis, Earl Hedgmon, Angelo Cossey, Dakota Cossey, Keyshawn Cossey, Malik Cossey, Justin Cossey, Kyle Cossey, Kaleb Cossey, Jayden Cossey and her two fur babies, Denim and Levi. She is also survived by four fur-grandchildren.

Yvonne was an accomplished mother, wife, businesswoman and government employee. She worked 32 years for the government and touched so many lives over the years. Yvonne was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Yvonne was truly an angel looking over all of her family members and friends. She would always be there for you regardless of what the circumstances were. She was the type of mother that made you feel so special, wanted, heard, and just respected for being who you truly are. Yvonne held her family as tight as gorilla glue. Anyone that knew her well, knew she would always put a smile on your face, uplift your mood and when you ask how she was doing...you would get this silly smirk and “I’m GUCCI!!”. One of her favorite past times with her family was taking long RV trips all over the country. The Lord has brought his angel home and I hope you can help us celebrate her life and what she stood for.
