Yuba Jane Tharp

Yuba Jane Tharp, our mother, best friend, and family mentor has gone to be with Jesus on April 24, 2010. Born in Greenbriar, WV, she was the daughter of the late Romey and Margaret Jane Morrison McMillion, and wife of the late Clyde Roberson Tharp. She moved to Harford County in 1950 and resided in Darlington until 2005 at which time she moved to Bel Air. Very family oriented, she was the matriarch and wherever she was, the family surrounded her. She enjoyed her friends at the activity center and loved flowers, gardening, walking, and traveling the United States.

Mrs. Tharp is survived by her son, Harold Eugene Tharp of Bel Air, MD; daughters, BJ Surratt and husband, Ned, of Abingdon, MD and Carol Whitt and husband, James, of Havre de Grace, MD; brothers Merel and Charles; sisters, Ireta and Ruth; grandchildren, Alan Temple, Ronnie and Mickey Ratledge; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Berlin, Braden, and Richard, and sisters, Arlene and Hulda.
