Wyett H. Colclasure Iii

Wyett H. Colclasure III, age 45, died at home in Jarrettsville, MD on Monday, September 9, 2013.

The son of military parents, Wyett was born at Noble Army Hospital, Fort McClellan, AL on August 4, 1968. He attended elementary and high schools in CO, KS, MD, AL, and VA, graduating from J.E.B. Stuart High School in Falls Church, VA in 1986. He attended Pfeiffer College in Misenheimer, NC, studied at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA, for two years, and graduated with a BS degree in Mathematics and Engineering Studies from Pfeiffer in 1991. He worked as an Operations Research Analyst at the Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense on Aberdeen Proving Ground and later as a Research Associate at the Battelle Eastern Science & Technology Center in Aberdeen, MD.

Wyett was active in Scouting. He was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout at age 14, and later was awarded the Order of the Arrow.

He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. Generally studious and quiet, Wyett was also known to have a dry wit and be distinctly funny when with close friends.

He is survived by his parents, COL (Ret) and Mrs. Wyett H. Colclasure II of Jarrettsville, MD, a brother Christopher Colclasure and wife Jennifer Torrington of Denver, CO. Also a sister Retha and husband Mark Mattern of Bismarck, ND. He has three nieces, Abigail and Caroline Colclasure of Denver and Clara Mattern of Bismarck; a grandmother, Etha Broom of St. Joseph, IL and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

For the past two years, Wyett suffered from recurrent cancer.
