Wm. Gwyn Brown

February 19, 1922 — November 8, 2004

WM. GWYN BROWN, of Aberdeen, died on November 8, 2004 at Harford Memorial Hospital. He was 82.

Born February 19, 1922 in West Jefferson, North Carolina, he was the son of the late James E. and Eula E. Marsh Brown.

After moving to Maryland in 1940, he met his wife of 59 years, Margaret Janelle Johnson and together they raised three sons.
He worked on several farms before going to work at Bata Shoe Co. He left there to go into business with his brother at the BP Service Station in Churchville. He then worked for Walter G. Coale, Inc. until he retired in 1982.

Mr. Brown was a life member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where he served as an usher as well as being involved in various other activities.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Brown is survived by two sons, James L. Brown of Boston, Massachusetts and Stephen D. Brown of Aberdeen; five brothers, Robert Brown of Bluefield, West Virginia, Burman Brown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gale Brown of Bel Air, Rev Jackson Brown of Milford, Delaware, and Jerry H. Brown of High Point, North Carolina; four sisters, Ethel Alger of High Point, North Carolina, Jean Chell of Jarrettsville, Maryland, Catherine Gilbert of Churchville, and Mary Leppo of Churchville; five grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Christopher L. Brown and two brothers, Willard B. Brown and Edward Brown.
