Wm. Dorsey Hiteshew Jr., age 82, of Joppa, MD passed away on April 7, 2018 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of William Dorsey and Helen Phyllis (Allenbaugh) Hiteshew. He was the oldest of the 14 children in his family. A civil engineer by trade, planes were a passion of his, serving in the Maryland Air National Guard. He enjoyed genealogy, and spent his free time researching the Hiteshew family tree. He was known as "Mr. Fix It", and if something was broke, he could fix it and always salvaged any leftover parts. Also, he was an avid reader of military and political history and was known for his grilled cheese sandwiches and cinnamon toast.
Dorsey is survived by his wife of 43 years, Deborah L. Hiteshew (Brinkley); two sons, William D. Hiteshew, III and Michael D. Hiteshew; two daughters, Michelle S. (Hiteshew) Lloyd and Amy L. (Hiteshew) Kalb; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, as well as his surviving brothers and sister.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brian P. Hiteshew and daughter, Mary L. Hiteshew.
