Wilma Cook, age 88, of Joppa, Maryland passed away on December 30, 2021 at her home. Born in Pineville, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Lacey and Thelma (Sizemore) Cook. She worked as a teacher’s aide and was a member of Sovereign Grace Church in Abingdon for over 40 years. She was very involved in church activities, would make cakes for different events, she sewed, and she sang in the church choir. She loved singing and would do solos for both church and weddings. Wilma loved children and cherished any time she got to spend with her own children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Wilma is survived by her husband of 69 years, James Cook; son, Stephen (Vikki) Cook; daughters, Rhonda Jane McCracken (Bob), Phyllis Jean Shriner (Douglas) and Karin Louise Cook; brothers, James Dale Cook and Randall Fred Cook (Donna); sister, Mary Louise Cudar; grandchildren, Stephanie, Suzanna, Danna-Jean, Alex, Caleb, Kelly-Jane, Nathan and Samuel; and great grandchildren, Jeremy, Logan, Amelia and Addison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry B. Cook.
