Willie Lewis Colvin, age 83, of Belcamp, Maryland, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at Lorien Bulle Rock in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Born on July 9, 1941, in Davenport, Alabama, he was the son of the late Judge and Alma May Colvin.
Willie proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran for 22 years, retiring with honor. A devoted member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, he was deeply rooted in his faith. Willie was also a proud Mason of the Jesse Shanks Lodge, where he served as Worshipful Master, a title that reflected his dedication and leadership within the organization. The Masonic Lodge was a cornerstone of his life, and he cherished the brotherhood it brought him.
Willie is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Hazel Colvin; his son, Darren Colvin and his wife Kerry Colvin; and two grandchildren, Malcom Colvin and Mason Colvin. He is also survived by his brothers, Melvin Colvin and John Colvin, and his sisters, Theresa Reed, Almeta Cantlo, and Alma Hinton. In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Colvin.
Willie’s legacy of faith, service, and leadership will be cherished by all who knew him.
