William T. Hofmann

William T. Hofmann, age 61, of Bel Air, MD, died on October 23, 2009. Born in Fort Monmouth, NJ, he was the son of Col. Ralph and Sally Hofmann. Mr. Hofmann is survived by his sister, Barbara O'Reilly, and his mother, both of Columbia, SC. As a teenager, he became a life guard and achieved an Eagle Scout rank. William graduated both Carlisle High School, in 1966, and Dickinson College, in 1970 as a member of the AXP fraternity. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he later worked as a contracting officer for the Research, Development and Engineering Command of Aberdeen Proving Grounds (Edgewood Area). As a resident of Harford County for 35 years, William was an avid stamp collector who also enjoyed home improvement projects, listening to Rolling Stones music, reading, card playing, and the company of animals.
