William "Bill" Andrew Stout Jr., age 86, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on October 22, 2024. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late William Andrew Stout, Sr. and Helen (Hranicka) Hayden and the beloved husband of the late Pauline (DeAtley) Stout to whom he was married for 59 years. Bill was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marines. He graduated from Mount St. Joseph’s High School in Baltimore and earned his bachelor’s degree and MBA from the University of Baltimore and retired in 2008 after a more than 30-year career in health care administration at Johns Hopkins Hospital as a Management Engineer.

In her last years, Bill was a devoted caregiver for his wife Pauline, offering unwavering love and support throughout her illness. Above all, Bill cherished his family, especially proud of his children and watching his grandchildren grow and supporting them in all their endeavors.

Bill was an avid runner, completing several marathons, often on back-to-back weekends. He was active in youth sports, spending years coaching in the Bel Air recreational slow pitch and fast pitch softball and soccer leagues. He also played fast pitch softball in an adult league. Bill’s creative streak shone through in his craftmanship in woodworking and in his drawing skills. He was known as a true handyman, able to fix anything for his family and friends. Bill was a learner at heart. In his downtime, Bill enjoyed reading and working on his computer. For a short time, he taught continuing education classes at Harford Community College in computer basics.

Bill is survived by his children, Karen Stout (Kathleen Tierney), William “Bill “Andrew Stout III (Patricia), and Kathleen Stout Yetter (Robert); his sister, Elizabeth Jacqueline Stout; and six grandchildren, Shannon Stout (Spencer Rhoda), William "Drew" A. Stout IV, Brendan Yetter (Brianna Mumma), Michael Yetter, Gavin Yetter (Lindsay), and Sydney Stout (Aidan Ray). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Bill was preceded in death by his grandson, Patrick Stout.

Those who wish to make a contribution in Bill's memory may donate to the Harford Community College Foundation / Pauline Ellen Stout Memorial Nursing Scholarship, 401 Thomas Run Road, Bel Air, Maryland 21015. Bill was proud of establishing the fund with his family in 2020 in honor of his late wife. It was one of his many enduring contributions.
