William Risteau Wainwright

William Risteau Wainwright, age 81, of Baltimore, MD, died on February 21, 2009 at Baltimore VA Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Born in Towson, MD, he was the son of the late Henry Irwin and Sally Grason Wainwright. A veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, he served our country during WWII. He worked at the News American in Baltimore for over 20 years, retiring in 1979. A wonderful grandfather, he enjoyed fishing, was a car enthusiast, and loved his two favorite dogs, BooBoo (Bear) and Midnight.

Mr. Wainwright is survived by his wife, Sunny L. Wainwright of Owings, MD; sons, William R. Wainwright II of Tyaskin, MD and Jeffrey Lee Wainwright of Joppa, MD; sisters, Sue Bush and Ida Wainwright, both of California; two grandchildren, Sabrina Wainwright and Meaghan Willis; and great-granddaughter, Emily Willis. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Henry and Jimmy Wainwright.
