WILIAM "Bill" R. CARTER, SR., age 85, of Joppa, died in Mariner Health of Forest Hill on June 19, 2004. Born in Cockeysville, he was the son of the late Charles Frank and Elsie Blanch Heinz Carter. He worked for Black and Decker as a foreman. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed flea markets and praying cards.
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife of 28 years, Alice Ann Francis Carter; two sons, William R. Carter, Jr. of Dundalk; Charles W. Carter of Edgewood; two daughters, Barbara J. Rose of Edgewood; Joann M. Bell of Edgewood; one step-son, Richard L. Bums of Perry Hall; two stepdaughters, Debra A. Bums of Newport, Rhode Island; Terry L. Crippen of Joppa; one brother, Franklin Carter of Hanover, Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret "Sis" A. Carter (nee Nevins).
Pallbearers will be: Charles Carter, Bob Carter, Dean Rose, Richard Bums, Justin Mitchell, and George Nevins.
