William Paul O'Brien died at the age of 61 on June 7, 2016. He was born in Newburyport, MA to William Francis O'Brien and Doris (Trombly) O'Brien. As a Merchant Marine his job took him all over the world. He participated in support during the Gulf War from which he received Campaign Service Medals. He held an Engineering Certificate from Calhoon Engineering School and was certified as a Chief Engineer in Steam and Diesel Ships. He loved antiquing, playing golf, basketball and was an avid downhill skier. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, a dedicated uncle, and gave his time to help others. He enjoyed his time on Friday nights at the Bel Air Auction Gallery. His greatest joy was watching his son perform on stage.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Elizabeth J. O'Brien of Bel Air, MD; his son James O'Brien of New York, NY; his brothers Michael O'Brien of Orangeville, CA, Kevin O'Brien of Summerville, MA and Sean O'Brien of Rochester, NH; his sisters Kathleen Buck of Warm Springs, GA, Theresa Lesko of Plymouth, MA, Mary Berry of Naples, FL and Susan O'Brien of Sweden, ME; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Brennan Stephen O'Brien.
