William Joseph Polischeck, age 69, of Abingdon, MD, died on March 10, 2011 at his home. Born in Pottsville, PA, he was the son of Andrew and Margaret Theresa Toth Polischeck and husband of the late Barbara C. Hodges Polischeck. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Army Reserves until June 1967. He was a member of the Ironworkers Local Union 16 and was employed by Bethlehem Steel. He also worked for General Motors in Baltimore, MD as a Millwright from the mid 1970's until 2004 when he retired. He was an avid fan of the sport of horse racing and enjoyed handicapping the horses, as well as, traveling.
Mr. Polischeck is survived by his sons, William M. Polischeck of Justin, TX and Rod Polischeck of Blue Springs, MO; daughters, Margaret A. Polischeck of Bel Air, MD and Deborah P. Heintzen and husband, Terry L. of Abingdon, MD; brothers, Joseph Polischeck of Dunkirk, MD and Andrew Polischeck of Hampstead, MD; sister, Elaine Vondersmith of Snellville, GA; and five grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Polischeck.
Pallbearers were William M. Polischeck, Rod Polischeck, Erich Heintzen, Terry Heintzen, Atobek Prietz and Emilio Jorge.
