WILLIAM JOHN GARDNER, age 55, of Bel Air, died at his residence on July 6, 2005. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John Adams, Jr. and M. Grace Stufft Gardner. A resident of Harford County for 17 years, he was part owner of Mercury Machining, LLC, in Pikesville. He received his machinist training through Koppers in Baltimore and was employed for 16 years before becoming self employed. He enjoyed Broadway stage shows and took spontaneous trips with no itinerary and ending in places like Niagara Falls. He was a very giving, selfless man who never needed acknowledgement for what he did.
Mr. Gardner is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ina L. Levin Gardner; four children, D’Nan E. Godfrey, Robert C. Godfrey, Jaime G. Enlow and L. Todd Enlow, all of Bel Air; and three grandchildren, Jacob R. Godfrey, Rebecca E. Godfrey, and Matthew T. Enlow, all of Bel Air.
At Mr. Gardner’s request, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the William J. Gardner Memorial Fund for his grandchildren’s education, c/o HAR-CO Maryland Federal Credit Union, 30 Hickory Avenue, Bel Air, MD 21014.
