WILLIAM H. DAVIS, of Edgewood went home to be with the Lord on April 12, 2003. He was 66. He died at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Born on November 2, 1936 in Batesville, Virginia, he was the son of the late Clarence Coleman and Hattie Lillian Wells Davis. He was one of 8 children. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He then served 22 years with the Civil Service.
Mr. Davis is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Barbara A. Wright Davis; five children, Felicia Gehman and her husband, Jim Gehman of Abingdon, Dora Fruhling and her husband, Steve Fruhling of Edgewood, Carmella White and her husband, Wayne White of Edgewood, Craig Davis and his wife, Kristina Davis of Monument, CO, and Derrick Davis and his wife, Karen Davis of Edgewood; nine grandchildren, Courtney Gehman of Abingdon, Amanda Larkin of Edgewood, Wesley Fruhling of Edgewood, Joshua Gehman of Abingdon, Clayton Fruhling of Edgewood, Jeremiah White of Edgewood, Simon Davis of Monument, CO, Kaleb Davis of Monument, CO and Elizabeth Davis of Edgewood; a brother, Donald Davis of Afton, Virginia; four sisters, Tony Cummings of Charlottsville, Virginia, Dorothy Herring of Charlottsville, Virginia, Mable Pugh of Afton, Virginia, and Ruth May Davis of Afton, Virginia; and mother-in-law, Frances Wright of Joppa.
Pallbearers were: Craig Davis, Derrick Davis, Joshua Gehman, Wesley Fruhling, Clayton Fruhling, Jeremiah White, Jim Gehman and Steve Fruhling.
