William Frank Sheppard

September 30, 1910 — February 26, 2005

WILLIAM FRANK SHEPPARD, born in Stratford, North Carolina, one of seven children born to William Green Sheppard and Cora Crouse Sheppard, died on February 26, 2005 in Arizona. Only his sister, Edna Dolan, a long time resident of Bel Air, Maryland remains. Survivors include Lorell Thompson and her husband, Allan of Mesa, Arizona: Frank Wallace Sheppard and his wife, Ella of Hacienda Heights, California; Irene Trego and the late Gilbert S. Trego of Atlanta, Georgia; and Dwight Len Sheppard of Conowingo, Maryland. Frank and his late wife, Mattie, had five children, 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Mattie passed away seven years ago.

Frank retired from federal service at Aberdeen Proving Ground in 1970. After residing in Maryland for over 60 years, he and his wife moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1981. They took numerous summer trips back to Maryland visiting many loved ones along the way. He and Mattie served faithfully in their Assembly of God churches in Maryland and Arizona and leave many friends, neighbors, and family members who loved them dearly.

On February 28 his friends at the El Mirage Mobile Home Park, where he and Mattie resided for 24 years, hosted a “Going Home” reception celebrating his life.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Following the service, interment will be at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church cemetery in Bel Air, MD.
