WILLIAM EDGAR PRESTON, JR., age 83, of Bel Air, died at his home on March 25, 2005. Born in Fulford, he was the son of the late William Edgar, Sr. and Cecelia Estell Harward Preston and the husband of the late Ruth Anne Stewart Preston. He retired from A.P.G., Edgewood Area after 42 years of service where he was a technical writer. He was a member of the Roy Rogers Breakfast Club and the Toastmasters, Edgewood Arsenal. He was an avid golfer and gardener. He enjoyed getting up early and taking care of his small farm. He enjoyed his family. He was a Harford County Election Judge. Mr. Preston and his family were very appreciative for all the help from Harford Hospice. He served in the US Navy during WWII.
Mr. Preston is survived by a son, William E. Preston, III of Bel Air; two daughters, Beverly P. Jones of Havre de Grace and M. Linda Creswell of Bel Air; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: William I. Kissinger, Jon K. Eikenberg, Jr., George A. Durst, Daniel J. Waltemeyer, Benjamin Smith and Craig Givens. Honorary pallbearers were: Winfield Baker Harward, Charles H. Creswell, Richard R. Jones, and Kenneth Coakley.
