WILLIAM “BILL” E. BROWN, age 83, of Forest Hill, died in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on February 19, 2004. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Harry Payne and Mabel Hanlon Brown. He was a cabinetmaker by trade and enjoyed restoring antiques. After working in real estate, he built and operated Churchville Golf and Baseball from 1977-1987. That business in now owned by his daughter, Joyce and her husband, Ken Rizer.
He enjoyed golfing with his buddies and swimming at Bel Air Athletic Club. He loved music and participated in the Bel Air Lions Club’s charity shows. He served his country in the U.S. Army in WW II.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Doris “Dot” E. Gibson Brown; two daughters, Joyce E. Rizer and her husband Kenneth A. Rizer of Bel Air; Leigh B. Faunce and her husband, Dr. William D. Faunce of Bel Air; one sister, Jean M. Kuntz of Hudson, Florida; two granddaughters, Carrie E. Rizer of Bel Air; and Katie M. Rizer of Bel Air. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Hanlon P. Brown.
