William Dennis Sanders Jr.

William Dennis Sanders Jr., age 73, of Darlington, MD, passed away on April 24, 2013 at his home. Born in Fountain Green, MD, he was the son of the late William Dennis Sanders Sr. and Grace Elizabeth Taylor Sanders. He was employed, for 24 years, with the State of Maryland as a road maintenance supervisor. He built race cars and was involved in NHRA Drag Racing and was the crew chief and innovator for S&S Racing. He loved to hunt, fish, camp and also liked to cook.

Mr. Sanders is survived by his sons, Mark Sanders and wife, Lettie, of Street, MD, Robert W. Sanders and wife, Maria, of Chesapeake Beach, MD and Tony S. Sanders and wife, Sandy, of Kingsville, MD; daughter, Pamala J. Vacek of Edgewood, MD; Ex Daughter-in-law, Charlotte Sanders of Chesapeake Beach, MD; brother, Thomas Sanders of Bel Air, MD; sisters, Dorothy Jones of Joppa, MD and Kim Good of Hickory, MD; grandchildren, Ronda Radke, Michael Yeager Jr., Tony Stephen Sanders Jr., Brandon Vacek, Emily Sanders, John Sanders, Katie Vacek, Sophia Sanders and William Alexander Sanders; great grandchildren, Amanda, David and Joshua; significant other, Ms. Velva Blevins; and ex-wife, Phyllis Sheckells of Aberdeen, MD.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sanders was predeceased by his brother, Frederick Sanders; sisters, Viola Sanders and Betty Sexton; and brother-in-law, Carl Jones.

Pallbearers were Mark, Robert, Tony, Stephen, Brandon and John.
