William Collins

William Collins, 81, died on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at home. He was born in New York City to William and Margaret McCarten Collins. He attended Fordham University and Ole Miss, receiving a commission of 2nd Lt. USMC. He served in Vietnam. He joined the transportation field in 1970, working for Sealand, PRIMMI, and The Army HQ MTMC.

He was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity, Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, Ole Miss Alum Association, Stuyvesant Alum Association and Harford Bird Club. He enjoyed swimming in the Senior Olympics, running Triathlons, birding, traveling and watching UConn Women’s Basketball.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary Jo; his children Joseph (Staci) of New York, Kathleen Herron (Tom) of Virginia, Mary Beth Collins of Bel Air, Barbara Delp (John) of Pennsylvania. He has 12 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren. He has a brother-in-law Ron Katims of New Jersey. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Peggy Katims.
