William Christopher Tobiason

William Christopher Tobiason of Bel Air, MD, passed away on October 19, 2011. He was born in Freeport, Long Island, New York to the late William Oscar and Edith Albert Davis Tobiason and spent most of his childhood in Wantagh, Long Island, New York.

Bill graduated from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania where he was a member of the Alpha Chi Rho Fraternity. Upon graduation, he was employed with ARMCO Steel for 28 years and was a member of the Metal Makers Society. In 1966, he married Mary Elizabeth at St. Johns Church in Sidcup, England. Bill and Mary raised their three children in Harford County Maryland where they lived for 39 years.

Bill was an active member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church for over 35 years where he served on the vestry and as treasurer. He enjoyed gardening, loved trains and lighthouses and was an avid baseball fan.

Mr. Tobiason is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Elizabeth; daughter, Deborah; sons Andrew and John; brother Peter; and five grandchildren.
