William Chalone

WILLIAM CHALONE, age 75, of Sarasota, Florida, died in Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Sarasota, Florida on April 9, 2006. Born in Churchville, he was the son of the late Frank and Bessie Cerny Chalone and the husband of the late Zenith K. Chalone. He had served his country in the U.S. Army for 26 years having obtained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He had served two tours of duty in Korea and two tours of duty in Vietnam and had received two Purple Hearts. He was past commander of the VFW in Sarasota, Florida and a life member of the American Legion, Edgewood.

Mr. Chalone is survived by a step son, Gary M. Snapp of Abingdon, Maryland; a step daughter, Gloria J. Smith of Wellington, Florida; a sister, Midge Yon of Abingdon, Maryland; two step grandchildren; and four step great grandchildren.
