William Calvin Norris Jr.

William Calvin Norris Jr., age 91, of Forest Hill, Maryland passed away on April 26, 2021 at his home in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Bel Air, Maryland, he was the son of the late William and Goldie (Peterson) Norris Sr. and husband of Lilace Norris. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany during the Korean War. He worked at the Register of Wills in Bel Air. Then he was one of the last Postmasters to be appointed by a US President. He worked his career at the Forest Hill Post Office until retirement. He was an active life member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church.

In his younger years he enjoyed collecting and restoring classic cars, fishing, crabbing and being around the water. He was very social and loved meeting his friends for breakfast. He enjoyed having his family close and always had a smile on his face.

In addition to his loving wife of 70 years, William is survived by his son, Scott Norris of Forest Hill, MD; daughter, Kathe Norris Blake and her husband Ralph of Jarrettsville, MD; granddaughters, Laura (Matt) Norris, Krista (Eric) Petterson, Stefanie (Kevin) Endres; grandson, Michael (Sarah) Blake; and great-grandchildren, Lily Petterson, LJ Caskey, William Petterson, Quillan Petterson, Grady Endres, Truett Endres, and Tillman Endres.
