William Arthur Koegel Jr.

William Arthur Koegel Jr., age 81, of Forest Hill, MD, passed away on October 27, 2011 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late William Arthur Koegel Sr. and Anne Elizabeth Luber Koegel. A resident of Glen Arm for more than 50 years, he managed the family farm where he ran his dairy operation for six years and then raised and cared for horses, teaching all his children to ride. He attended the University of Maryland where he learned about agriculture. A Harford County resident for the last nine years, he retired from C&P Telephone Company after 29 years where he installed and repaired many phones and switchboards in areas including Fork, Kingsville, Towson and Cockeysville. He loved to fix things around the house and taught himself to speak German and enjoyed making 12 trips to that country with his wife.

Mr. Koegel is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris Pauline Koegel of Forest Hill, MD; son, William P. Koegel Sr. and wife, Marian, of Delta, PA; daughters, Patricia A. Hack and husband, Elmer H. Hack Sr., of Kingsville, MD, Susan J. Norman and husband, Steve, of Street, MD, and Wendy M. Carver and husband, Norman, of Greenville, SC; sister, Anne Case of Berlin, MD; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
