WILLIAM ARLIE “BILL” WATSON, SR. age 78, of Bel Air, died October 11, 2004 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Born in Harford County, he was the son of the late John Barnett and Bertha Mae Suite Watson and the husband of the late Marjorie Ruth Andrews Watson. He graduated from Bel Air High School in1943. He retired in 1984 after 36 years of service at Edgewood Arsenal as a program analyst. He was a member of the American Legion Bel Air Post 39 and the Moose Lodge 55-Forest Hill. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during WW II. He was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, Bel Air. He enjoyed his dogs and working outside.
Mr. Watson is survived by one son, William A. Watson, Jr. of Bel Air; three daughters, Marjorie Ann Watson of Reisterstown, Mary Ruth Watson of Bel Air, Barbara Joan Niedrstein of Abingdon; one sister, Carolyn Joyce Powers of Whiteford; six grandchildren, Timothy Harkins of Bel Air, Erin M. Watson of Kingsville, Brittney L. White of Bel Air, Lauren A. Niederstein of Abingdon, Michael Craig Tochterman of Bel Air, Carrie Joy Morse of Bowie, and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by one sister, Myrtle Kate Roe-Hallock.
