William A. Miller, of Abingdon, MD, died at the age of 89 on September 6, 2016 at his home. He was born in Whiteford, MD to Delmar Thomas and Mary Elizabeth (Daughton) Miller and was the husband of the late Dora Alice (Seymour) Miller. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country during WWII and worked as a machinist for a shoe manufacturer. He was a life member of the VFW in North East and the American Legion in Baltimore. He enjoyed doing word search puzzles, playing solitaire and telling war stories.
Survivors include his son, William D. Miller (Shirley) of Whiteford; step-daughter, Laura Helena Seiss (William) of Elkton; sisters, Dorothy Miller of Whiteford, Gloria Bornt of Salisbury and Barbara McCasland of Abingdon; grandchildren, William Todd Miller, Brandi Renee Miller and Theresa Stertzell; and great-grandchildren, Collin Owen Miller, Sidney Grace Miller, Hugh Stertzell and Quinn Stertzell. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his step-son, Robert S. Yale; brother, Robert Miller; and sisters, Ethel Whiteford, Evelyn Baldwin, Margaret Kline, Mildred Wright, Majorie Harrington and Jean Maglaughlin.
