Willard B. Bauguess

March 17, 1930 — November 25, 2016

Willard B. Bauguess, age 86, of Forest Hill, MD died on November 25, 2016 at Hart Heritage Estates in Forest Hill. He was born in Bel Air, MD to Blaine McKinley Bauguess and Victoria Ruth (Quillen) Bauguess. A Harford County resident his whole life, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 where he served our country during the Korean War. He remained in the Army Reserves until 1956. He graduated in 1948 from Bel Air High School which at that time was located on Gordon Street and went on to work for Baltimore Gas and Electric from where he retired after 41 years of service. He was a longtime member of North Harford Baptist Church and volunteered at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for many years where he worked at the information desk and mail room. A lifelong Orioles and Brooks Robinson fan, he liked to tinker around the house, fixing things, making things and building things, one of which was the home he lived in for 53 years. He had a working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, automotive and knew a little bit about a lot of things. In his early days, he was an avid hunter, always had animals to take care of, planted a garden every year and liked to take his kids camping in Ocean City. He also gave rocket rides in the little pasture. He was a Christian and a kind soul, and his devotion to take care of his wife of 65 years, Thelma, existed until his final day.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Barry Bauguess and wife Shay of Cambridge; daughters, Cindy Hart and husband, Randy, of Bel Air, Tammy Bauguess of Glen Mills, PA and Terry Christian of Port Deposit; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; siblings, George and Jeanette; and a plethora of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Helen, Vida and very recently his older brother Ward. He lost his son, Randy, in 1971.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Office of Development, Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
