Wayne F. Murphy

Wayne F. Murphy, age 64, of Joppa, MD, died on August 4, 2010 at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Dorothy Maranto Telak of Rosedale, MD and the late Harold Wayne Murphy. Mr. Murphy, also known as "Murph", proudly served the Baltimore County Police Department for 18 years, where he retired as a detective. He loved police work and would often reminisce about his days on the force. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and working on his computer. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and will be greatly missed by all.

He is the loving husband of Joyce Murphy (nee Freund) of Joppa, MD; devoted father of Kimberly Murphy Stewart of Joppa, MD; beloved grandfather of Cody and Austin Stewart. He is also survived by his brothers, Dennis Murphy of NC, James Murphy of Owings Mills, MD, Jerry Murphy of AZ, and Hopson Murphy of CA; stepfather Casimer Telak; step-sister, Marlene Telak Hack of Rosedale, MD; step-brother, Ron Telak of Perry Hall, MD; several nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends and neighbors.
