Walter "Cap" Maschke

Walter "Cap" Maschke, age 67, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2024, at his home. Born in Fallston, Maryland, he was the son of George Joseph and Edythe (Hardy) Maschke. Walter was a devoted and loving husband and father. Known for his toughness and big heart, he shared nearly 40 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Gail. Walter's family was his world, and he took immense pride in his roles as a father and grandfather.

He was an incredibly talented carpenter and proudly self-employed, having founded CCR Building Contractors named after himself and two sons.

Walter's creativity and hard work were evident in every job he undertook, including the complete remodel of his home into a perfect family haven. Walter had a passion for fishing, particularly enjoying taking family and friends on off shore tuna trips in Ocean City MD. He also loved grilling and took great pride in his garden, where he grew delicious tomatoes every season. He always enjoyed entertaining friends and family, especially hosting with Gail every years Thanksgiving dinner.

In addition to his wife, Walter is survived by his son, Ryan (Nicole) Maschke; daughter, Patricia Bowen; and two grandchildren, Elise Maschke, and Caroline Maschke. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry (Karen) Maschke; brother in laws Eddie (Diane) Tschudy and Dave (Catherine) Tschudy along with many nieces and nephews and his best friend Bob Ward.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Maschke; daughter, Megan Bowen; sister, Joanne Maschke; and niece, Gerren Maschke.

Walter "Cap" Maschke will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have him in their lives.
