Walter K. Whitt

WALTER K. WHITT, age 85, of Bel Air, MD, died on March 21, 2007 at St. Joseph Medical Center, Towson, MD. Born in Tazewell County, VA, he was the son of the late Robert S. Whitt and Virginia Kate Riley Whitt and husband, for 50 years, of the late Genevieve Anne Monahan Whitt. A WWII Navy veteran, he participated in the Normandy Invasion. He was an active member of Grandview Christian Church in Fallston, MD and was very proud to have been a member of the 30 year club of the Operating Engineers Local 37. His family said he loved to travel and garden.

Mr. Whitt is survived by a son, Michael L. Whitt and his wife Kathrine Simon of Abingdon, MD; two daughters, Neitzy Feustel and her husband Dan Feustel of Hampstead, MD, and Pat Murphy of Hampstead, MD; one brother, H. Dean Whitt of Farmington, NM; three sisters, Ruth Jones of Yuma, AZ, Polly Bailey of Prescott, AZ and Doris Johnson of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren, David Young of Jacksonville, MD, Lisa Dilger of Towson, MD, Dan Young, Megan Murphy and Allison Murphy all of Hampstead, MD; five great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Margaret Browning of Bel Air, MD.
