Wallace Reed Cochran

Wallace Reed Cochran, age 84, of Street, MD, passed away on January 17, 2012 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Ennice, NC, he was the son of the late Andrew Mack and Anna Reed Cochran. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Wallace retired from Verizon Telephone Company after 25 years of service. He was an avid golfer and worked for 15 years at Geneva Golf Course where he retired again, at the age of 80, at the request of the family. He was a devoted member of the Fawn Grove Church of the Nazarene and worked to build the original church structure and membership through Bus Ministry. Wallace will be remembered for his hard work ethics and his love of church and family.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Ellen Hicks Cochran of Street, MD; and was the father of Robert "Sonny" A. Cochran (deceased), infant son, Wallace A. Cochran (deceased); daughters, Donna C. Whiteford and husband, Nick, of Delta, PA and Bonnie G. Homa and husband, Michael, of Jarrettsville, MD; brother of the late Ralph Cochran and his late wife, Viola, the late Ted Cochran and late wife, Helen, the late Richard D. "RD" Cochran, and his wife, Agnes Cochran who resides in Joppa, MD, Helen Gay Dorman and husband, Don, of Abingdon, MD, and the late Edna Barringer and her late husband, Charles; grandchildren, Jessica, Christine, Benjamin, Nichole and Kelly Day and their spouses; and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Mackenzie, Isaak, Cambria, and Kendell.
