Vivian Marie (Rogers) Webb, 89, of Abingdon, Maryland was called into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 2, 2021 after a lengthy decline through Alzheimer’s and a short battle against cancer. She was born on July 2, 1932 to the late Reverend Lowell R. Rogers and Rhoda (McDowell) Rogers of Burlington, West Virginia. Vivian was married to Kenneth Webb of Williamsport, West Virginia for over 62 years. He preceded her in death in 2016.
Vivian was a hard-working woman who found real delight in serving the Lord and serving others. Much of her service was directed toward children through Good News Clubs, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She traveled to Jamaica several times for missionary work. She voluntarily drove a school bus for Harford Christian School for over 10 years. She prepared meals for and visited the elderly and shut-ins. She also volunteered at the Promised Land Camp by painting the cabins, and making curtains for nearly every building. She and her husband contributed heavily to the Baltimore Rescue Mission as she enjoyed helping those who in no way could repay her.
Vivian is survived by her four children: Connie Bebber (Rick), Kenneth Webb (Susan), Doug Webb (Dianne), and Esther Fleming (Brad); three grandchildren: Brandon Webb (Christina), Mark Webb, and Ericka (Bebber) Traub (Craig); and four great grandchildren: McKinley, Adalyn, and Mason Traub and Catherine Webb. She is also survived by one brother, Clifton Rogers of Old Fields, WV. She was preceded in death by two siblings: Loma Louise Cannon and Delmer Rogers.
Interment will be held at a later date in Lahmansville, West Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, Vivian would have desired contributions be made to the Baltimore Rescue Mission, 4 N. Central Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21202.
The family thanks all who assisted with Vivian’s care in any way, especially Loretta W. and the truly caring staff at Citizens Care Center.
