Virginia M. Moffitt

VIRGINIA M. MOFFITT, age 87, of Forest Hill, MD, died on March 4, 2008 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Austinville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Jasper Charles and Elizabeth Bowers Newman. She worked five years for the John Archer School where she was a teacher's aide. She enjoyed crafts and attending senior classes, as well as, traveling the country. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and, especially, her great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Moffitt is survived by her husband, Thomas Edison Moffitt of Forest Hill, MD; three sons, Charles Edison Moffitt of Jacksonville, FL; Larry T. Moffitt and his wife, Debra, of Whiteford, MD; and W. Ted Moffitt and his wife, Paige, of Hampstead, MD; one daughter, Nancy K. Lewis and her husband, Mac, of Bel Air, MD; one brother, Jack Newman of Willis, TX; two sisters, Louise Mayes of Roanoke, VA and Elizabeth Wyatt of Windsor, PA; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Warren Newman and a sister, Lois Tracy.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Curtis Moffitt, Thomas Moffitt, Justin Moffitt, Brandon Moffitt, Michael Moffitt, and Robert Moffitt. Grandson, Marc Lewis, will be honorary pallbearer.
