Virginia M. Comer, age 88, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on November 26, 2012 at Avondell in Bel Air, MD. Born in Elkin, NC, she was the daughter of the late Earl Ernest and Lula Alice Burcham McIntyre and wife of the late Samuel B. Comer. She had worked as a supervisor for the C&P and Verizon telephone company. A great cook, she loved to travel and had "magic hands" that could fix anything. She could also sew anything including dresses, drapes and Mumu's. She loved all her nieces and nephews very much and had a special relationship with her great-nephew Jason, who was named for her husband Samuel Comer and was the apple of her eye. Jason spent every New Year's Eve with "Ginny" toasting with special glasses until his teenage years.
Mrs. Comer is survived by her brothers, George G. McIntyre of Bel Air, MD and Earl E. McIntyre of Churchville, MD; sister, Edna L. Slusher of Darlington, MD; two nieces, seven nephews, seven great-nieces, three great-nephews, one great-great-niece and one great-great-nephew. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Doyle F. McIntyre of Emmorton and sister, Annabel Mason of Jarrettsville.
