Virginia M. Clayton

Virginia M. Clayton, age 95, of Bel Air, MD, died on December 6, 2010 at Glen Meadows Retirement Community in Glen Arm, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Royal and Susan Meta Poehler Schmidt and wife, for 52 years, of the late Kenneth L. Clayton.

Mrs. Clayton is survived by her daughter, Mary V. Cardwell and husband, Brigadier General Robert D. Cardwell Jr., of Bel Air, MD; brother, Joseph Schmidt of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Robert Cardwell III and wife, Judy, of Street, MD and Valerie Johnson and husband, Larry, of Forest Hill, MD; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also mother to Donald W. Clayton and family, of Orlando, FL, and also survived by many extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Robert D. Cardwell III, Larry and Evan Johnson, Edward Baker, Joseph Wilson, and John Schultz.
