Virginia “Ginny” Lee Ostheimer, age 77, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on April 6, 2022, in Bel Air, with her family at her side. Ginny was born in Glyndon, Maryland on May 4, 1944, to Florence and Henry Porter and grew up in Reisterstown, Maryland where she graduated from Franklin High School. Ginny married Paul Ostheimer on August 30, 1969, in Aberdeen, Maryland.
Ginny studied at Strayer University then worked in the research division at T. Rowe Price in Baltimore, Maryland. Ginny served the local church for over 50 years in a variety of ways. She served as an organist, choir member, Sunday School teacher, handbell choir member, VBS volunteer, and she prayed for everyone. Ginny worked for 20 years as an Administrative Assistant at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Churchville, Maryland and was known for mailing notes of encouragement to fellow church members.
Ginny saw The Beatles in concert in Baltimore in 1964, was an avid reader, owned a 1965 Ford Mustang convertible named “Maggie,” loved animals, and enjoyed tending her garden. She will be remembered for her faith, her sharp sense of humor, and her kindness.
Ginny is preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Henry Porter, and brother Howard. Ginny is survived by her husband Paul Ostheimer, daughter Carrie (Walter) Yocum, and brother Ellis Porter.
