Virginia G. Owens

Virginia G. Owens, age 88, of Forest Hill, MD, died on August 16, 2011 at Madonna Heritage in Jarrettsville, MD. Born in Hoboken, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Galasso and Gertrude Shabuska Stork, and wife, for 18 years, of the late Edmund John Owens. She worked as an executive secretary in New York for over 20 years before moving to Harford County with her husband in 1962, and was known to be an excellent cook. Devoted to her faith she was an active member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Forest Hill, MD.

Mrs. Owens is survived by her daughter, Laurie A. Nelson and husband, Michael K., of Forest Hill, MD; and two grandchildren, Michael S. and Bradley O. Nelson of Forest Hill, MD. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, James, Charles, Ralph, and Joseph Galasso and sister, Gertrude Perino.
