Virginia Ann Jordan, age 76, of Timonium, MD, died on September 19, 2010 at Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson, MD. Born in Pittston, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Simon and Eleanor Hopkins Dargis. She received her elementary education at St. John Parochial School in Pittston, PA and earned her B.S. at the College of Misericordia. She earned her M.Ed from Johns Hopkins University in 1968, and later earned her advanced professional certificate in business education. A resident of Bel Air from 1957-1984, she taught for many years, including at Edgewood High School, Bel Air Middle School, St. Margaret's School, and finally at Towson Catholic where she retired in 1998. She was beloved by students and colleagues alike.
She attended St. Margaret's and later, the Church of the Nativity in Towson. She enjoyed classical music, traveling with her husband, and was a great reader.
Mrs. Jordan is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas J. Jordan of Timonium, MD; son, Gregory William Jordan of Sherwood, MD; brother, John Dargis of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sisters, Aleen Mangan of Airmont, NY and Mary Ellen Campenni of Palm Coast, FL. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Thomas J. Jordan Jr.
