Victor Yonce

VICTOR “VIC” L. YONCE, age 91, of Churchville, MD died at the Smith Home in Edgewood, MD on March 13, 2004. Born in Flatridge, Virginia, he was the son of the late Stephen Thomas and Lura Ann Noonkaster Yonce, and the husband of the late Hassie Lee Parks Yonce. He worked as a dairy farmer. He came to Maryland in 1947 when he began farming at the McClain farm in Emmorton. Then he worked at the Umbarger’s Dairy Farm until 1969 when he began working for Francis Construction building homes. He loved to garden.

Mr. Yonce is survived by two sons, Robert Lee Yonce of Jarrettsville, MD; Dennis Mark Yonce of Churchville, MD; two daughters, Betty Ann Ellis of Sugar Grove, North Carolina; Lana C. Thomas of Colora, MD; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by five brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers were: Corey Yonce, Brian Yonce, Wade Schneider, Mark Konstans, Barry Bishop, and Jim Swearingen.
