Vetra K, Shaw

VETRA L. SHAW, age 51, of Reisterstown, died at her home on February 24, 2003. Born in Havre de Grace, she was the daughter of Howard Franklin, Sr. and Reba Virginia Bryant McMillan of Jarrettsville. She worked for the Sweetheart Cup Corporation as an operator.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shaw is survived by one son, Troy D. Shaw of Reisterstown; two brothers, Howard F. McMillan, Jr. of Jarrettsville; James L. McMillan of Edgewood; four sisters, Lois V. Birchen of Jarrettsville; Shirley M. Tittle of Jarrettsville; Ina Jean Buchanan of Jarrettsville; Tamara L. Lee of Edgewood; two brothers-in-law, Havon Birchen of Jarrettsville; Clarence B. Tittle of Jarrettsville; and one sister-in-law, Barbara A. McMillan of Jarrettsville. Also survived by nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; three aunts; and two godchildren. Also survived by a very special friend and companion Emmanuel Smith of Owings Mills. She was predeceased by one daughter, Deneen L. Shaw; and one brother, Lewis McMillan.

Services will be held in Fairview A.M.E. Church, Forest Hill on Saturday, March 1, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jimmy C. Baldwin and Rev. Theodore McPhearson officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday, February 28 from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday before the service from 10-11 a.m.

Pallbearers will be: Randy L. McMillan, Kevin H. Birchen, Charles R. McMillan, Dr. Kim A. Birchen, Timothy L. McMillan, and Vernon E. Lee, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be: Darick H. Buchanan, James L. McMillan, Jr., Lawrence J. McMillan, and Eric McMillan.
