Vernon S. Tyler, age 80, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on August 15, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Oliver Vernon and Margaret Beulah (Knochel) Tyler and husband of the late Linda Leigh Tyler. Vernon was a very witty and brilliant man. He was able to graduate at 16 years old, skipping two years at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in Maryland. Vernon's father helped build Military planes; which sparked an interest for him in transportation and business. He went on to study at Harford Community College and University of Baltimore, with a realm of studies in data processing, programming, business administration and logistics. He continued his education at San Francisco State College where he learned more about international relations and operations. He spent much of his time working in the field of transportation for many places such as DC, Buffalo, NY, Chicago, IL, and Menlo Park, CA in all aspects such as the railroad and in trucking. In any spare time, Vernon could be caught watching M.A.S.H reruns and drinking his coffee, but also spent much of his time with his pets, mostly his beloved dog Coale.
Vernon is survived by his daughter, Alexandra E. Tyler; son, Christopher "Blair" Tyler; and three grandchildren, Brooke, Paige, and Chad Tyler.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Suzanne Tyler Shine.
