Vernon L. Weaver

Vernon Lloyd Weaver, age 94, of Darlington, Maryland passed away peacefully on July 28, 2012. Born in Loma, Montana, he was the son of the late Nathan Lloyd Weaver and Mina Clark Lawson Weaver and husband of the late Clara Fender Weaver. He graduated from Bel Air High School in 1935 and from Bliss Electrical School in 1938. He was employed by IBM from 1938 to 1983 and was an active member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. A veteran of the United States Army, he served our country during WWII from 1942 to 1946 ending his active service as a Captain in Military Intelligence. He retired from the Army Reserves in 1958. He was a member of Bliss Electrical Society and Deer Creek Harmony Church; a supporting member of Montana Historical Society, Harford County Historical Society and Deer Creek Watershed Association; and a past member of Kingsville Volunteer Fire Department and the Kingsville-Perry Hall Lions Club.

Mr. Weaver is survived by his daughters, Christena Clare Weaver Smith and husband Joseph H. Smith II of Warrenton Virginia, and Carolyn Verne Weaver and husband Robert G. Powell of Kingsville, Maryland; grandchildren, Rebecca Clare Hunter and Duncan Joseph Smith; and great-granddaughter, Samantha Clare Hunter.

A memorial service will be held at Deer Creek Harmony Presbyterian Church at a later date.
