On April 22, 2017, at age 92, Verna Ray Mazan (nee Spicer) beloved wife of the late Edmund James Mazan; loving daughter of the late Vernon Brown and Bessie Virginia Spicer (nee Ray), devoted mother of Nancy Verna Garey and her husband Art of Rosedale, David Edmund Mazan (previously married to Lori Jewel) of Rosedale; Bernard James Mazan and his wife Sherri of Milford, OH, and Kathleen Marie Santoro and her husband Tony of Baldwin; loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; also survived by Thumper and Raven; passed away at her home in Rosedale.
Born in Jerusalem, MD, she attended Mountain Christian Church in Joppa and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fullerton. Her life was devoted to her family, she was a great Wife, Mother, and "Memaw". She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, gardening, crocheting, working on puzzles, playing cards and Yahtzee. She loved her pets including horses, dogs, cats, "Peppy" the groundhog and even a monkey! She was also known to some as "Dr. Verna" for her home remedies.
