Vera Marie Anderson, age 93, of Middle River, Maryland, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024, at Accent Care at Franklin Square in Rosedale, Maryland. Born in New York, New York, she was the cherished daughter of the late Raymond Dury and Vera (Willis) Swanson and the beloved wife of the late Charles Anderson, Sr., with whom she shared a wonderful 30-year marriage.
Vera had a zest for life that was evident in her love for travel, exploring the world alongside her husband, Charlie. Together, they embarked on countless adventures, from cruising the seas to road-tripping in their beloved Maxi Van. One of her favorite retreats was their cabin in West Virginia, a place where she found solace and joy.
An animal lover at heart, Vera had a special bond with her dog, Boh, and treasured the company of her three horses. Her remarkable independence and sharp intellect were hallmarks of her character. A true DIY enthusiast, she maintained her own workshop, where she crafted and built with remarkable skill.
Vera was also a gifted artist and painter, expressing her creativity through vibrant works that reflected her unique perspective on life. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, creativity, and adventure, touching the lives of all who knew her.
Vera is survived by her daughters, Kathi Craven-Ford, Betty Ertwine, and Susan Lefteris; grandchildren, Wendy, Kristen (and her spouse Edward), Daniel (and his spouse Kate), Eric (and his spouse Kaitlyn), Dennis, and Benjamin (and his spouse Robin); great grandchildren, Samara, Austin, Abby, and Levi.
She was preceded in death by husband, Charles Edward Anderson Sr., father, Raymond Arthur Dury, mother, Vera Marie Swanson, son, William York Jr., brother, James Dury, brother, Raymond Dury, sister, Margaret Tyler, grandchildren, Johnny.
