Velma Martin

November 30, 1916 — May 5, 2005

VELMA MARTIN, age 88, of Abingdon, died at her home on May 5, 2005. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Frank Joseph and Florence May Bolstridge Peters (Pitera), and the wife of the late Joseph C. Martin. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Dundalk and a member of Presbury United Methodist Church. She had worked at Julius Gutman’s in Baltimore for 15 years and also at Pemco in Baltimore.

Mrs. Martin is survived by one son, Joseph C. Martin and his wife, Karen of Corpus Christi, Texas; three daughters, Dolores Cada Weber of Gambrills, Maryland, Florence V. Stahl and her husband, John H. Stahl of Newton, Kansas, and Patricia L. Warren of Abingdon; 15 grandchildren, Deborah A. Beck and her husband, Joseph of Copley, Ohio, Patricia L. Madigan and her husband, Carl of Forest Hill, Laurie V. Della Noce of Abingdon, Lawrence C. Warren and his wife, Angie of Abingdon, Kathleen D. Gibbons and her husband, Louis of Stevensonville, Maryland, Jerome R. Weber, Jr. and his wife, Karin of Gambrills, Maryland, Michael A. Weber and his wife, Shannon of Oak Harbor, Washington, Mary D. Foy and her husband Michael of Pasadena, Timothy Stahl and his wife Sherry of Andover, Kansas, Daniel Stahl of Newton, Kansas, William Stahl and his wife, Karen of Newton, Kansas, Robert Stahl and his wife Jennifer of Newton, Kansas, Karen M. Campbell and her husband, Jack of Pittsville, Maryland, Joseph D. Martin and his wife, Mary of Dover, Delaware, and Jennifer McCray of Frankford, Delaware; 41 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two sons-in-law, Jerome R. Weber, Lawrence T. Warren; one brother, Kenneth Bolstridge; one sister, Angeline E. Hart; and one brother-in-law, Carl Hart.
