Vaudrie Otis (Bud) Wood

Vaudrie Otis (Bud) Wood, age 83, of Forest Hill, MD, died on December 8, 2011 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Churchville, MD, he was the son of the late Ottis Clay and Virginia Dare McMillan Wood. Born and raised in Harford County, he was a graduate of Bel Air High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving our country in the Korean War. A supervisor for C&P Telephone Company, he retired after 34 years of service without missing a day. A lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers and the American Legion Post 182 Slate Ridge, Whiteford, he was a huge Civil War buff and collected many books, Franklin Mint plates and enjoyed fishing in Canada.

Mr. Wood is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth E. Grace Wood of Forest Hill, MD; sons, James M. Wood of Joppa, MD, Joseph D. Wood and his wife, Sherrie M., of Delta, PA, Richard M. Wood and his wife, JC, of Abingdon, MD and Jeffrey P. Wood of Joppa, MD; brother, Raymond C. Wood Sr. of Fallston, MD; and grandchildren, James F. Wood and Christopher M. Wood of Abingdon, MD and Stephen J. Wood and Stacey A. Wood of Delta, PA.

Pallbearers were David, Robert, Harold and Kenneth Grace, and Joseph and Richard Wood.
