Ursula H. Dyess passed away on January 4 ,2024 at home surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of the late Herbert Radicke, a Soldier and Banker, and Ilse (Golz) Radicke, a homemaker was born in Altkarbe/krs Friedeberg, Neumark, Germany, on February 2, 1936. Her sisters, Bringfriede Hanssen and Sabine Nissen both reside in Germany with their Families.
Upon completion of high school, Ursula attended Nursing School and graduated as a Nurse. She worked at several University Hospitals in Germany.
Ursula met her husband and best friend, Rodney Dyess, in February 1964 while he was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. They married in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, in June of the same year. They recently celebrated 59 blessed years of marriage.
Ursula is survived by their two children, Annette S. Dyess, Mark S. Dyess and Mark’s wife Karol. Annette resides in Lawton, Oklahoma and Mark resides in Stewartstown, Pennsylvania; and five grandchildren, Tashia, Simone, Sydney, Matthew, and Brianne.
Her husband was a career Soldier for 26 years and Ursula traveled with him to numerous Army bases within the U.S. and Europe. In 1986, her husband retired from the military, and they moved to Maryland where he was employed by Allied Signal/Raytheon and resided in Abingdon.
Ursula shared hobbies with Rodney including traveling to many destinations which include favorites Europe, Hawaii, and Arizona. Shopping was their favorite pastime, Ursula’s eyes lit up every time she found a bargain and Rodney indulged her zest for finding that bargain.
