Tony Dean Barnes, 67, of Joppa, MD passed away on August 17, 2015 at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Born in Eagan, TN, he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree and Masters in Education from Towson State University. For 42 years, he dedicated himself to the Baltimore City Public School system, first as a teacher, then as Math specialist, principal, and central office administrator. An avid Ravens fan, he was an original season ticket holder. His love of travel lead him around the world, and was highlighted by two pilgrimages to the Holy Land. In later years, he was ordained as a Lay Minister where his services included performing the marriage ceremonies for all three of his daughters.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janie Dabney Barnes; mother Christine (Barnes) Fraczkowski: son, Jason Barnes; daughters, Anne Kristin Barnes of Joppa, Amanda Barnes Stevens and husband, Gregory, of Pasadena and Ashley Barnes Andrews and husband, Jonathan, of Joppa; brothers, Edward, Robert and Allan Fraczkowski; sisters, Patricia Berends and Dawn Wysoski; and grandchildren, Annabella Barnes, Ava Barnes, May Andrews and Jamesantony Andrews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his honor to the Maryland Food Bank, 2200 Halethorpe Farms Road, Baltimore, MD 21227.
